Date of exit not marked in EPFO: how to fix: step-by-step
Rule source: EPFO Instructions on Member Self-Marking of Date of Exit (January 2020), accessible on epfindia.gov.in. Checked on 11 October 2026.
Why Date of Exit is Mandatory
To claim full EPF final settlement (Form 19) or Pension withdrawal (Form 10C), EPFO requires a Date of Exit in your service history. If your status shows as currently employed, final settlement claims cannot be processed.
2 Months Waiting Period
You can mark the exit yourself only after 2 months from the date of your employer’s last PF contribution deposit. This is not counted from your last working day, because employer contributions are deposited in the month after the work is done.
