Common Portal Messages:"INVALID BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER OR IFSC CODE""BANK ACCOUNT NOT SEEDED / VERIFIED BY BANK""BANK DETAILS MISMATCH IN CLAIM FORM"

Quick Solution

PF claims get rejected if your bank account number is wrong, or if your IFSC code changed due to bank mergers (e.g., Syndicate Bank to Canara Bank). You can update your bank details online under Manage > KYC on the EPFO portal.

UAN KYC: invalid bank details or IFSC: step-by-step

Rule source: EPFO Member Portal KYC Guidelines & NPCI Bank Verification SOP. Checked on 11 October 2026.

Invalid Bank Account or IFSC Rejection

EPFO transfers claim money directly to the bank account linked in your UAN KYC. If the account number is incorrect, or if your bank merged (e.g. Allahabad Bank merging into Indian Bank) changing the IFSC code, the bank returns the payment and the claim is marked rejected.

How to Update Bank KYC Online

  1. Log in to the EPFO Member Portal.
  2. Click Manage > KYC.
  3. Under Add KYC, tick Bank.
  4. Enter your correct Bank Account Number and valid IFSC Code.
  5. Click Save. The bank details are verified directly via bank API / employer attestation.

Once your bank KYC status changes to ‘Verified’, follow our EPF Withdrawal Guide to re-apply for claim settlement.

Still Rejected? Official Escalation Route

If your online correction or employer approval is stuck after following these steps, you can file an official complaint on the EPFO I-Grievance Management System (EPFiGMS).
